Audition opportunities for young people at MAYFLOWER THEATRE & MAST MAYFLOWER STUDIOS this summer

Southampton’s Mayflower Theatre and MAST Mayflower Studios have announced that registration for auditions is now open for 11-19 year olds for their summer youth projects.

Based on the iconic British musical film starring Cliff Richard, the Mayflower Theatre will produce Summer Holiday, with MAST Mayflower Studios staging a new production of the play, Grimm Tales.

Grimm Tales, retold by master-storyteller Philip Pullman, is full of familiar characters; Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel, Hansel and Gretel - and some unexpected ones too. Philip Wilson’s stage version will be rehearsed and performed at MAST Mayflower Studios from 1 - 14 August.

Summer Holiday will be rehearsed and performed at Mayflower Theatre from 15 – 28 August, and features a brilliant score including ‘In the Country’, ‘Bachelor Boy’, ‘Living Doll’, ‘The Young Ones’, and of course ‘Summer Holiday’.

Auditions will take place on 9 May and applications need to be in by 25 April. Young people can audition to take part in either or both projects over the school summer holidays.
