Applications now open for The Alexandra's Stage Experience Production - FAME THE MUSICAL

The Alexandra in Birmingham have announced the return of their annual Stage Experience, following a two-year postponement due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The best in West Midlands’ talent will spend two weeks of their 2022 summer holiday alongside a professional creative team to showcase a full-scale production of Fame the Musical.

Applications are now open for anyone aged 9 – 24 who wishes to take part in the historic project, whether as a performer or on a technical placement.

Performer participants will work alongside an industry professional director, choreographer and musical director to put on a full-scale production in just two weeks! For those who have an interest in working behind the scenes across lighting, sound, wardrobe, flys, stage management and more, there are a limited number of technical placements available.

Director and Choreographer of Stage Experience, Pollyann Tanner, said: “I am so excited to finally be doing Fame after two summers without Stage Experience. It’s such a perfect show for a diverse mix of performers, where every participant can shine in their best genre, whether they are actors singers dancers or even instrumentalists! Like they say in the show, ‘You've got big dreams, you want fame. Well fame costs, and right here is where you start paying; in sweat.’”

Stage Experience will take place from Friday 12–Saturday 27 August 2022 and following an intense rehearsal period, will culminate in 5 fully-staged performances on The Alexandra stage, complete with a professional orchestra, set, lighting, sound and costumes.
