Andrew Lloyd Webber’s CINDERELLA to be renamed for Broadway audiences

Andrew Lloyd Webber has announced that his production of Cinderella will begin performances at the Imperial Theater on Broadway on 17 February, and will be renamed Bad Cinderella.

The musical will star Linedy Genao in the title role, her first lead on Broadway. She was previously in the ensemble of On Your Feet! and understudied in the Broadway production of Dear Evan Hansen. This Autumn, she will star in On Your Feet! at the Paper Mill Playhouse.

Bad Cinderella features music by Lloyd Webber, with lyrics by David Zippel, and a book by Emerald Fennell. It has direction by Laurence Connor and choreography by JoAnn M. Hunter.

The production is said to have been redesigned for the New York stage and will feature a few new songs.
