The Almeida Theatre announces full casting for Yaël Farber’s THE TRAGEDY OF MACBETH

Full casting has been revealed for The Tragedy of Macbeth, running at the Almeida Theatre from 27 September - 20 November 2021.

Joining the previously announced James McArdle as Macbeth and Saoirse Ronan making her UK stage debut as Lady Macbeth will be Michael Abubakar (Malcolm), Ross Anderson (Banquo), Aoife Burke (Gentlewoman/Cello), Emun Elliott (Macduff), Annie Firbank (Wyrd Sister), William Gaunt (Duncan), Akiya Henry (Lady Macduff), Maureen Hibbert (Wyrd Sister), Reuben Joseph (Angus), Gareth Kennerley (Assassin/Wounded Officer and others), Valerie Lilley (Wyrd Sister), Adam McNamara (Assassin/Thane of Cawdor and others) and Richard Rankin (Ross), with the children played by Myles Grant, Jamie-Lee Martin, Henry Meredith, Dereke Oladele, Emet Yah Khai and K-ets Yah Khai.

Directed by Yaël Farber, this elemental production about a world in transformation, the shadows in all of us, and one couple’s spine-chilling quest for power, is designed by Soutra Gilmour, with costumes by Joanna Scotcher, lighting by Tim Lutkin, sound by Peter Rice, and composition by Tom Lane.
