From 19 February, all five seasons of Jim Henson’s The Muppet Show will be available to stream on Disney Plus, featuring a large number of Broadway stage stars.

The variety show, featuring iconic characters such as Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy and Animal, was originally aired from 1976-81 on ITV in the UK and on CBS in the US. The episodes also used to feature starry guests hosts including Bernadette Peters, Ethel Merman, Julie Andrews, Carol Channing, Liza Minelli, Gene Kelly, Rita Moreno and many more. Joel Grey even performed ‘Willkommen’ from Cabaret in the very first episode.

Disney acquired the rights to The Muppets in 2004 and in addition to the show’s first three seasons, seasons 4 and 5 will be available to stream for the first time.
