It has been announced that Tony Award winner Danny Burstein will play Herbie opposite six-time Tony Award winner Audra McDonald as Rose in Gypsy, which begins performances at Broadway’s newly renovated Majestic Theatre on 21 November.

Directed by the legendary George C. Wolfe, Gypsy is suggested by the memoirs of Gypsy Rose Lee. The musical features a book by Arthur Laurents, music by Jule Styne, and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, with choreography by Camille A. Brown, musical direction and supervision by Andy Einhorn, and additional orchestrations and arrangements by Daryl Waters.

Gypsy will feature set design by Santo Loquasto, costumes by Toni-Leslie James, lighting by Jules Fisher + Peggy Eisenhauer, sound by Scott Lehrer, and casting by Jordan Thaler CSA/Heidi Griffiths CSA.
